My mate Jimmy has an Arona manual, which I could copy. He also has some spares from my AD290, [ I scrapped it last spring], but has plans to use them to refit his, and probably wouldn't want to part with them. What is the problem with yours?
The Arona went out of production around 1980, and although various names are produced as having spares, when Jimmy and I looked for them, none were forthcoming. 20 years is a long time. The Arona was a marinised Lombardini, and the bottom half is all original, but whether you could source 20 year old spares from them, without a Lombardini part number, I would doubt.
When mine seized, I could probably have revived it by fitting non standard parts, making gaskets, etc., but it would still have been an old engine with no spares back up, so I went for a new engine.
Send me a PM

Hi Jeanne, any help would be gratefully excepted.
The motor was bought as seized, it had taken water in to the back cylinder and hydroliced. I have it in bit's and need two pistons as well as all the other bits.
I want to replace the Volvo MD6A l have in my Self built Roberts 34 steel. I have been away on the boat the last few days, so sorry about the delay to returning your responce.
l have some part numbers off the old bearings, but Lombarini in Perth have asked ltaly for a conversion between the 290 but to no avail and need to measuring bores and crank.
As l said before any help would be appreciated and l would love a sevice manual if you could copy one. I would be happy to cover any costs incurred.
Excuse mt ignorance but what is PM. lm living in Kalgooplie Western Australia and my boat is moored at 400km away in Esperance

Hi Kevin. I will try and copy the Manuals: we have the owners handbook, which is mostly a parts list, and a 'workshop manual' which is not a guide to servicing the engine, but a set of factory test procedures, torque settings, etc, not much use in repairs.
Clearly any engine can be fixed, one way or another, but still think that to spend time and money renovating an engine which has no spares back-up is not the way to give yourself an easy life - having said that, it was a nice little engine and took us a long way...
PM is a 'personal message/mail',which is a way of reducing the number of posts on the forum which are of no interest to most people, and for passing adresses, etc.
Click on the name of the person to whom you want to send a message and their details will appear on a seperate screen. Go to the bottom of the screen and there is an option to send a PM. This keeps things like real addresses and personal e mail addresses private as no one else can read PMs except the recipient. Alternatively, or to read your personal messages, go into User Options. To send a PM use the persons screen name from the forums. You could do a search for 'Arona' - there is a lady on the east coast who talked to me about our Arona, and to whom we gave a copy of our service manual, I can't remember her real e mail address, but you could contact her via the forum. She may have disposed of her engine, but she would certainly have a sound top part of the engine. Her screen name was Maxey - but I don't know if she would read the forums regularly.
Send your snail mail details for manuals - I don't have a working scanner!

Jeanne
