I want to replace the armoured fuel lines between my tank and engine. (Bukh 20) I've been able to find rubber iso fuel lines but can't locate the armoured type. Any ideas where I might find these. Is it overkill - could I get away with the rubber?
Thanks

Rubber\'s fine...

No problem with ISO7840 rubber fuel hose as long as the hose is routed carefully to avoid chafe.

You can get "Petroflex" from Auto-diesel motor factors. However as has been said by PVB the synthetic rubber stuff is fine. Have you thought about solid metal line with rubber at any flexing points as an alternative?

Did you read about the boat that exploded due to the battery shorting out across the fuel line? I would stick to rubber maybe encased in bigger bore tube if your concerned.

I've used the pvc "spiral wrapping" that many electrical places sell to cover petrol pipes in areas where they might chafe, the split convoluted tubing works well also, and both can be fitted after the pipe, in short sections if needed.

In reference to your request for information about Armoured fuel lines. This may be purchased from any Motor Racing parts supplier. A very good mail order company called Demon Tweeks in Wrexham (Phone: 01978 664466) can provide various types of Armoured pipe conforming to different specifications. Such specifications could include types of fluid to be used. Also try a company called Race Parts UK Ltd at Wallingford, Oxfordshire.

Stainless Steel Armoured pipe must be used with the apropriate end fittings. These are also available from the pipe suppliers.

Best of luck
