My 1992 German built ketch has an odd headsail furling system. Rather than fitting over a wire stay, it appears to be structural itself. It has a thin wire that runs to a spring loaded catch at the head, which holds the sail when hoisted. There is no swivel for the halyard, so hoisting requires a trip to the masthead to undo the halyard.
There is a faded sticker on the furling drum that (I think) reads Arioturn, but Google returns no results.
Has anyone come across something similar? It would be great to find a manual or similar because I think I must be doing something wrong.
