A freind of mine used some beer line cleaning fluid on his hull then power washed off, has anyone used this as he was very impressed with the results, could it have any detrimental effects ?
If its the same stuff they now sell me for cleaning homebrew barrels then its basically bleach, I think with a touch of Peroxide. It certainly attacks any stains, and is OK with beer barrel plastic, but in a recent thread, Bignick it was I think, warned that bleach is definitely detrimental to the health of GRP.
unless there are many diferent types of line cleaner you must be moor than carefull with it as i use it as paint stripper and the results are very very good as far as i know it is caustic so pleas check and take great care Kieron
The homebrew one (Chempro?) is based on Sodium Matabisulphite, which gives off sulphur dioxide. Boots or homebrew suppliers for small amounts, but you'll need a mortgage for enough to do your whole boat.
