Is it just Nick, or are you all like this.

Came down the other morning to find disgusting Props on Dining Room table - when I suggested to Nick that I did not think this was the place to store them before packaging off for re-pitching he could not understand it and thought I might like to look at them - I can't imagine why!

Then when sitting in our lounge the other afternoon I looked out through our conservatory but my view of the garden was obstructed by our recently removed huge holding tank and outboard engine - again Nick could not understand my problem with this.

I hate to think what will appear and where this weekend - probably the RIB in our bedroom - because of course its getting far too wet and cold for it to be left outside on the back of the boat!!

I probably just being a whinging girl aren't I.

No, I agree with you, get him to build a shed/garage or something for his boat bits! bad upbringing! Just not acceptable behaviour, but great blackmail material for a wonderful weekend away for you!
Although when I was younger, my mother came home to find my brother and myself, working on his royal enfield motorbike, on the kitchen table, she was not very amused, nor was my father when he got home!! Ouch!
Now of course no problem for me as the boat is my home, but even there, accomadation is just that, the workshop/stowage is for all the other stuff!

You should have thought about that before you typed it! Blow up rubber things in the bedroom. Hmm I'll pass on that one and yes we are all like that. I degreased the engine components in the bath. My wife hit the roof, buat as I pointed out, she's dirty she get in the bath or has shower. Wheres the difference, she's got big ends as well as the engine. I will add I've still got the bruise.

There's nothing wrong with a RIB in the bedroom, and the props shouldn't be on the table, they should be on the bedroom floor before being sent away, The nmorning of despatchj they should be treated to a nice herty breaky and then sent of with care and consideration....

As for the holding tank, well I must agree with you on that one, the the OB shoudl be in teh Kitchen, and Nick bring the lines home to be washed in a pillow case and dryed over the decking... the fender socks shoudl be washed with teh bedding and then ironed

Keep us posted Joanne,

ps, Nick needs a new watch see earlier posting

I sold a boat to a man who took me home for the final paperwork and there, on the aged refectory antique dining table, were the oily parts of an old motorbike. Tea was served by his significant other and no comment was made, it's admirable to come across one of those rare occasions when it's clear a man is master in his own home.

Yes, a bit wingey really. I mean, the props are like ornaments - except unlike boring blimmin ornaments there is a guarantee that they will be gone soon enough. As for stuff in the garden - suppose Lawrence llwelyn-bowen or the irish bloke had puttem there eh? I bet you'd be very blimmin pleased withem then, swooning ooh yes how wonderful, and that purple lump of 20foot high concrete is just adorable etc etc.

Hang on a minute - that holding tank is full!

Joanne a while ago Nick posted that the holding tank was filling up and some probs about emptying it. He didn't bring it home to empty it, did he....?

Re: Hang on a minute - that holding tank is full!

A brief statement

Whilst I am unable to deny the allegations made within my wife's post and I have since suffered the consequences of my actions. However I am currently experiencing intense pleasure by savouring the beauty of a pair of freshly repitched and now very shiney propellers which are sitting resplendantly upon the dining room table and no they will not mark the cushions that they are displayed upon.

To answer the queries and concerns about the holding tank I certainly ensured that it was emptied and flushed out before loading it into the car. I strongly disagree that it has spoilt the view of the garden as it is a very pretty and rather shiney tank.

Beyond being able to enjoy its athetic beauty from my comfy chair the other benefits of removing the tank are that it gives me more room in the lazerette for stuff like fenders and other boaty gear, removes some weight and in my view is one less thing to go wrong or smell.

For the sake of clarity whilst my RIB and I have become very close during the last few months I have no intention in bringing it up to the bedroom (Unless it gets very cold of course)

Nick

That clears it up then....as we suspected, Joanne was being totally reasonable. I mean unreasonable.

Holding tank

So what are you going to do with it now, turn it into a hot tub or maybe a paddling pool? /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

My God woman, after everything he put us through over the purchase of said dinghy, I should bloody well hope he's taking good care of it. The debate over said purchase was worse than the 'what shall I do with the fuel in the tanks posting.' Mercy.........../forums/images/icons/crazy.gif

I don't remember saying it applied to me, in fact I can say with some certainty that it doesn't! Mind you, my wife promised me I'd never have to wash up, and she's kept the promise.

2 motor bikes - one bedroom

I (in my past) carried the entire components of 2 motor bike engines for repair in my bedroom. One a BSA 650 A10 engine and the other a Honda 500 - 4 engine. OK, I did put newspaper down to stop the oil staining the carpet.

Can't see anything wrong with this myself :)
