We are thinking of going to boot in our little Motorhome. Does anyone know if there are places to stay in your Motorhome on site

Commonly in Denmark. Dizzy Too, most of the time.

I would suggest contacting their office as rules change for events and sometimes require advance booking etc.

There are several camping sites nearby also, but as it is out of season it needs checking. In German Motorhome is 'Wohnmobil' - try that when searching. Visitor parking at the fair is plenty (and payable!)

You might also consider an alternative:

On our last visit, we arrived at the airport and took the train into the city centre where we stayed at the 'ibis Hotel Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof', actually housed in the original administration building with direct access to the train station. At the hotel there surprisingly is no noise from the railway :).
FYI: Today booking.com states €241 for 2 nights and 2 persons in one room.

Walking distance to the old town which has a lot to offer ??

In previous years public transport to the fair was included in the ticket but now you have to buy a train ticket (cheap as all public transport in Germany). The city train stops inside the entrance hall, so it's super easy.

Thanks for the information and interesting alternative. We only got the motorhome in November 2021 and wanted to have a first small European adventure so we were thinking of going for a week or more and take in the show as a sort of purpose.

Nice...
Any camp site would do then. And either public trans or parking at the fair.
