I plan to get into trailer sailing next season. I've looked at some Polish built boats and others and they are all very nice but can be quite pricey.

So in the meantime, to occupy me in the winter months, I think to myself why not go for a home completion kit!

Does anyone know if any of the manufacturers offer trailer sailors in kit form? Any information would be much appreciated.

what's a trailer-sailer? at one end of the scale you can get a mirror as a kit. at the other, hunter sell their boats in 'kit' form for home completion.

If you are talking complete self build then look at Selway-Fisher's range. If you after a fitting out job then I would guess there might be quite a few though I've not seen any promoted or priced.

Hello mikemc. It's probably a long shot suggestion buying Australian. However you would find the price very attractive at around 11k pounds new on trailer plus transport. However I am sure the manufacturer would do moldings only. This would raise the question where is the boat built and who built it for purposes of EU compliance. The type is Castle 650 built by Yachtworks Melbourne. At 6.5 metres 750Kg and very fast it has a fully vertically lifting keel so that it will float in 30cms of water and sit flat on the bottom. It is very easy to winch onto a trailer. The down side is he has a 12 month wait for a complete boat.
Have a look at http://au.msnusers.com/CASTLE650GROUP read recent messages and you will see my boat Howzat 23yo in photos. PM me if you want more detail
