Are Sailors harder than Motor Boaters

Went down to the Boat alone as her indoors, poorly.
Take the rib out for a blast me thinks.
Scrape the ice off - flat battery, charge it up and off I go.
Can't see cause of the wind, but dead calm and sunny.
Solent is empty except for Sailors, outnumbered MoBo 10-1.
So I ask are they harder?

Yes !!! Much harder :- To talk to, about anything non boaty.
To get to agree that it is their round.
To convince that it would be far better to head direct for their destination rather than wander about aimlessly.
To persuade that tacking across narrow fairways in busy harbours is not skilful but is just inconsiderate to other users.
To persuade to turn the engine on.
To convince that dressing up in their father's/grandfather's clothes is not very attractive.
To persuade that arriving in port with all their washing,especially socks and underware, hanging out to dry, does not look attractive.
To get to agree that motorboat owners have any rights whatsoever.

Solent was absolutely packed with sailors today! A thought re wind in your eys. I bought a pair of ski goggles last year - what a brillinat piece of kit for use in the winter. Try a pair, you may look a bit like biggles but it beats keeping your eyes closed - not a good idea at 30knots INMHO! Also good in rain to!

Very cool idea, I could wear my diving stuff in case I fall in and my bike gloves to keep me warm and thus combining 3 hobbies in one go.
