This news item here says that NBS have neogtiated a hugely reduced daily rate with ExCel to allow visiotrs to LIBS to use the underground car park directly beneath the show for a flat daily rate of £9.

Ok, so good for us, but why has it taken them 4 years to come up with this stroke of genius? Is it because in past years they have had no competition so we, there customers, can just lump pricey parking and a slow bus ride?

I suspect despite their bleeting to the contrary, NBS are really scared we might actually find out just how little show is in their event, and this is an attempt to make ExCel a little more accesable.

Also, funny how at SIBS they are still happy to allow us to pay £15 to park in the Multistory...

Too late for me, won't be going to Excel again, parking was one of the many hassles. SIBS you can accept some parking issues because its not a dedicated exhibtion centre, but I've never had a problem just using the cinema carpark 100yds away at £5 all day.

The underground car park at excel is less than one year old so they could not do it any earlier, there were problems this year but again that was excel and they have sorted it way in advance of next year

The parking at SBS has nothing to do with NBS, it is an outside venue ironically it is run from a car park!

I found the parking to be fine at Excel last year. But what let it down was the decreasing number of chandlery stalls ect. A large part was took up by sales people giving out leaflets for charters ect and some even non boat related. I feel more and more companies are not bothering.
