I have just been given command and control of a mint plant for its owner who is away for a bit. Now if it dies, should I replace it like you do with a goldfish and hope the owner doesn't notice or should I tell the truth??

Not a bit like Goldfish.
Gold fish die if you look at them the wrong way.
Mint will invade your house and garden if you give it half a chance!

My wifes friend was feeding my Koi whilst we were away this year, and, you guessed it she lost one, well she didn't really lose it, it was on the top dead.

It was about 14" long. I haven't lost a fish in the past 4 years and she was devastated that one had died. She was so upset that we have invited her and her husband round for supper.

I've promised not to serve fish, well not for the main course.

Didn't half make the bin smell.

Keepin Kois is more expensive than sailing! Do you know how much a 14" Koi is worth? I am not sure the neighbours will welcome the invitation....it is as if you got invited by Peters of the Opal variety, after you lost your Bav deposit! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Does the 'mint' look anything like this? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It smells of mint and tastes of mint, but we know how devious these plants are, they've been around a lot longer than humans. Will the clover inherit the earth??

Just be happy it's in a pot. Once loose in the ground it can spread like a rash. I would have great respect for the vegicidal ability of someone who could actually kill a mint plant.

Took me three years with the lawn mower to get rid of the stuff after the previous owner planted it in a flower bed and it spread through the lawn. Just need to work on the brambles, bind weed and mares tale now /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I killed mine - it was thriving, super mint tea, really happy with its spread in a large box - and then I looked at it one day, and it all keeled over...

I've just looked up the prices !

That's 2.3 litres of red diesel per inch of fish !

I sense a change of career coming on: sell the sheep, and start fish farming.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Just don't take up maths.......... your miles off the price of a decent fish!

It's more like .............. no we wont go there, apart from saying I didn't use the cost of the fish in diesel this year. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif and the holiday was about the same price.
