Are Malo owners too grand to read this forum? If not…….

Can I please have a description of the saloon table mechanism and how it works which allows the table to be turned 45% and then opened up. It is the bit below the table I am interested in. I was much taken by the design at the SBS but did not have the nerve to photograph it so I could copy it! As they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery….

If I remember right, the saloon table on the 39 is folded/ hinged at its corners a bit like an envolope. opening it out produces a bigger square. Check out the Malo home page I think they have a 360 degree view of the saloon. Hope this helps a little

I think you will find the table is attached to a large diameter alloy pole that fits into a cylinderical post bolted to the floor. There is a large clamp around the top of the latter, which when tightened by a hand screw, clamps the pole in the post in any position you chose. This is cetrainly the case on models with just one folding leaf and I suspect the "triangular" folders have the same mechanism.

P.S. There is nothing grand about me.....

This is not a novelty, Malo has had it for years, actually it is their "signature" thing.

There is a cross under the folded table that holds it diagonally (from corner to corner)

When you turn the table 45 degrees the cross sticks out as it is not diagonal any more. Unfold the triangles and they will be supported by the original cross now in the new position.

Hope this helps
