I did not say any owner should let his land be used for nothing. I just said that the main purpose of the event organisation should be to make a profit out of organising the vent.
The main purpose should of the venue should be to get suppliers and buyers together.

Yes the opportunity to bring suppliers and buyers together is what they should be about, the need for "organisers" to make a few ££££ out of it is secondary to my mind and it may be that these sort of events would be best organised on a non commercial basis by clubs etc. They could still be a source of funds to those organising them but if staffed by volunteers giving their time on behalf of a club or the RNLI then costs would be different.

Now we are all in the post boom economy this sort of mutual self help may bet the way forward in a number of areas, we can no longer rely on the market to solve our problems.
