going to replace the shore power cable on the boat as it's going a bit yuk. will buy a reel of arctic flex from my local electrical factors. but what colour cable should I buy. yellow blue or orange or does it matter. what is technically correct.

I assume yellow is for 110V

live near Saint Ives, Cornwall.
and blue is normally for 240vac. My shore cable is blue Arctic.

You usually find orange on garden tools - as a warning to SWMBO not to cut it with the hedge cutters (experience here!!)

Anyway, its' not a silly question.

Normally..........

Blue >>> 220/240v
Yellow >>>110/120v
Orange >>> visability - could be any voltage.

Check out Home Base - my local store are / were doing 16A extention reels - "arctic" cable - for less than the local electrical wholesaler is punting the cable - a 30m reel for £15.

Blue is 240volts. I bought a 100mt coil, now split into 45mt & 55mt lengths. Paul
