Hi all.
I have an archimedes penta 70 hp 2 stroke outboard made in Uppsala Sweden.
I am still having problems separating the gearbox from the leg.I have removed the 6 bolts around gearbox flange and disconnected the shift rod through the oval apature halfway up the leg.The box has dropped about 10mm and will not move anymore even with light tapping with copper/hide mallet. The shift rod is completely free.
Can anyone help with advice or a manual.
I have a replacement impeller kit that I purchased with the engine many years ago but I have lost the manual.
Regards

Its almost certainly the drive shaft not coming free. I'm not familiar with that engine but with others it has to pull out of the crankshaft and come away with the lower unit. It could be stuck in the crankshaft.

I had problems with a long shaft Evinrude where the shaft ran in a bush in the leg extension but would not pull through it due to corrosion etc. That was solved by removing the extension with the lower unit then cleaning the shaft and then removing the extension. Brute force would have damaged the water pump housing in that instance.
