I am fitting an Aquasignal 34 led masthead nav and anchor light but a little confused on the wiring connections. The instructions are probably very simple but think I am missing something here. The base has 4 connectors, three live and one earth. They are numbered....3 is nav lights, 2 is anchor light and earth is marked as such, but cant seem to see what number 1 is?

My assumption after reading the instructions is that 1 is not used, and should not be connected to anything. Can you do a temporary wire up and test on the bench before fitting to make sure?

Good idea and thanks for your reply. It seems daft that they couldn't just state that in the instructions

While you have easy access: Check with a magnet if they have finally started to supply stainless wire clamping screws in the connector block. If not, have them replaced (M3 IIRC).

I feel such a diddy...just realised that the Aquasignal masthead lamp I bought on eBay for my yacht is a double white light and anchor light and not tri colour and anchor light that I assumed it was. The question is, do I leave it now purely as an anchor light (very expensive one), or sell it and but a tri colour and anchor.

I already have deck level green and white marker lights, a white forward facing light 3/4 way up the mast and a white stern light.

Perhaps you should move to Blackpool?

Your boat, your choice.

Personally, I like to use a tricolour when offshore as it is higher up and theoretically seen from further away. I read some of the posters on here struggle with an anchor light at anything above 2 meters, something can't understand.
