Aprox distance from Thames to Wash?

I wonder if anyone has apropriate charts or a plotter/gps thingumybob handy and can tell me the approximate distance from the mouth of the Thames to Kings Lynn on the Wash is?

Approximate sea miles would do. Avoiding anything nasty.

No charts handy but roiugh dead reckoning using autoroute from position roughly due south of Southend to entrance to Kings Lynn about 200 land miles.173 nautical miles. Very rough but prob not a million miles out!

I have the chart on my PC here. KL to the Thames, specifically Sheerness, is 155nm hugging quite close to the coast

If you are intending this trip in your Freeman 22, I would think long and hard.
Great boats as they are they make no claims to being anything other than non tidal river boats.

I know anything will go anywhere in the right weather, but for the relatively modest cost of transport give it careful thought.

A quick look out into the wash on a nice day is all I ever intend to do in the Freeman.

I was trying to work out the possibility of a friend getting from Penton Hook to the Wash in his boat. 37ft, twin diesel..radar etc..... a real sea going afair.

Don't panic, you are not going to see me on 999 with Michael Burke.

But let's just imagine for a moment ....
Say 200 nmiles at 8 knots = 25 hours cruising.
I recon about 8 hours cruising per tank full of unleaded = Just over 3 tankfulls.
So if I converted my water tank to fuel and added another petrol tank, I might just make if I refuled at Gt. Yarmouth. Assuming there is petrol available. Or walk backwards and forwards to the local garage with cans!!

Don't panic..... I wouldn't do it.
