April Fool fishermen!

At the first lock this morning - lovely and sunny, calm sea, lots of bonhomie amongst 5 fishing boats - I called down and said we had been informed that the RN were doing an anti-terrorism excercise in the BC - they were deploying a mini sub to practice interception of small craft.

I didn't expect it to work, but I met some of the crews in the caff in the afternoon - at least one lot had been using binocs on every bit of wood they saw in case it was a periscope, and every time weed snagged their lines they thought it was a contact. Result!
