Hi all, I have recently purchased an Apollo 32 made by Klaus
Baess in Copenhagen it is very similar to the Jupiter 30, which was designed by Knud Olsen. These two guys used to make the Jupiter range up to 1971, until Klaus went on his own and made the Apollo 32
He also made many of the sailing boats that won the Olympics in 1984.
I would like any history anyone may have on the boat or the Klaus
Baess shipyard in Copenhagen
Hope you can help.
The specs of the boat are
32ft Motor Cruiser with aft cabin
Twin perkins 4236 deisels on shafts

Fabolus boats the Apollo 32's ... had one... 1977 model ... fitted with 2 x 4Cyl ford @ 80 HK first, then upgraded to 120's .... absolutely loads of memory and visited the factory once. They were deligheted to see the boat again and kitted us out again with replacement cutlery and stacked the drinks holder (under the saloon table) with Calsberg with their own label "Baess Beer". Later also made the Husky Dane, which evolved to Apollo 29, then later on Apollo 30.... and I think the moulds for these later ones was bought up by someone else. Our was a 32 TT Deluxe, where TT stood for Two Toilets.

A bit "wet", but would cut through anything ... Solid built and one of the boats I would feel totally safe with in most conditions

They had a mould for a 40 footer, which never came into production.

Please let me know if you want more information ....

Welcome to the forum...

Apart from above ....

Used spray guns for laying up the hull, and the wokrmanship was very well indeed. A bit hard work in following seas... Greatin heavy seas and somwhere I have a copy of a test report of a cross channel journey which was given to me by another forumite...

MBY Group Report

Barrie169 & RoryJ, in 1973 MBY did a group test which included the Apollo 32 (the others were Fairey Fantome, Fairey Super Swordsman, Moonraker, King Falcon and Laguna 11.5 M). The conclusion of all the testers was that they all rated the Apollo as one of their favourites.
I'll PM you a copy of the report.
