Hi,
I have an old Apelco GXL 1100 which has NMEA 0183 output not sure what version. I am interested in getting a GPS repeater such as the Nasa clipper unit. It says it works with NMEA 0183 v2.0 or later. Do you know if these two units are compatible. Has any one any experience with "budget" repeaters for the Apelco unit.

Thanks

Mike

I still have my Apelco GXL1100 as a standby on a different power source from my modern GPS. I can PM you the relevant pages from the manual but since the version of NMEA is not specified I think it highly unlikely to be ver.2.0 or later.

Actually have manual thanks. Might try and get a unit on sale/return in a local chandlers and try it. Was going to order on web for better price if I got a definite positive answer. Not too confident though if it didnt work with Silva unit.
