Sorry the image is not as clear it should be but I only had the small camera and a moving platform ain't the best place to start.

Beating south through the Spitway from the Wallet heading to the Outer Crouch. Very nice, vey comfortable. She was so balanced.

I can forward to original image to the owner if anyone knows. Can't make out the name - two words.

She is ‘Blue Shoal’, a canoe-stern centreboarder, designed by Bayzand (who later worked for Laurent Giles) built in 1950 (in wood) by Souters of Cowes and owned by my dad Jack Coote from about 1960 to the late ‘70s.
Since then she has had various owners and a name change to Moonfleet. She is currently being very well looked after (and had her original name restored) by Jeff Peters who sails her from Orwell YC, Ipswich. I’m sure he would like a copy of this nice pic, Roger. I will let him know about it.

Thanks Jan. I thought the 'Laurent Giles' influence. There a couple more images, one from distance that I think looks good. Oh and a perfect picture of the top of the mast !

Hi Roger

As Jan Harder has posted that is me sailing Blue Shoal on what was the glorious mid day of a three day cruise from Orwell YC to Pyfleet, Fambridge and back. Many thanks for the photo and the compliment and yes I would love to have the photos as I have very few of Blue Shoal sailing since changing her topsides to blue.
I had a similar difficulty trying to take photos of the barge race which I met on my return goose-winged single handed through Harwich Harbour but the attached one isn’t bad.
regards

Jeff Peters

Hi Jeff

Send me your email via a PM (private message) and I will forward them to you. In particular I like the second one which is more distant but a lovely blue yacht on a lovely blue sea under a lovely blue sky! I regret I didn't have the better camera on board.

Good picture of the Pin Mill race.
