cheers
Yes Shawn that's the one, I was pleased with the results when I put it on this winter, I've yet to see how it fairs throughout the year but its comes well recommended, but as with most things it depends on the amount of work you put in applying it.

It appears to be wax not a polish. Protection only so needs to go onto a previously polished surface.

Having a blue hull stripe I have to do at least a little cutting back on the transom every year. This year I have decided to try and just ordered Maguires 49 oxidation remover, using a 3M yellow machine polishing sponge, followed up with Maguires 56 marine wax.

Anyone tried these before and will I need a finer cutting compound between the 49 and the 56?

Yep, used the Liquid Wax - Good stuff and can be used with machine. Haven't used No49 - I have No50 which they call a "Cleaner wax" , probably just a very fine liquid compounder , but it is only suitable for hand application. I found it blocked the pores of the polishing pad quite quickly.
Is No49 specified as suitable for m/c polishing ?
Hope that helps
George
Edit
I think if the product brings the shine up to your satisfaction then just protect it with the wax layer. If there are some fine scratches still visible when viewed at an angle under bright / sun light then you might need a finer compound , but I doubt it.

The link is a short video of it being hand applied to a fibre glass truck roof. When I spoke to Meguiars on the phone they specified that their car products could be happily used on gelcoat but not to use Marine products on clear coat finishes.
