Might be abit of a longshot, but looking for an overnight berth for a 37ft catamaran on the medina river (IOW) on the 18th September. Most places are all booked so just wondered if anyone is leaving their berth that weekend so we could work something out :) ? TIA

Why not come up to Newport, if you can sit in soft mud; the town pontoons are usually empty and the river is recently dredged. Or if you want security and facilities, the Odessa boatyard has drying visitor pontoons in soft mud.

I wish we could but we are part of a boat share and are restricted to water berths. That would have been my preference otherwise but thanks for suggesting it.

That does sound lovely and I would definitely do that if we could but our boat share agreement prevents us from touching bottom. Thank you for suggesting it though it would be an ideal solution otherwise.

Never mind, Newport's worth a visit anyway, it's a pleasant mini-market town, totally different from Cowes or Yarmouth.

Strange clause, one of the big advantages of a cat is easy drying out?

I can imagine that some boat sharers might make that a condition - there always the risk the other guy might be less careful in his choice of drying out spots.

If the other partners are sufficiently incompetent that this clause is necessary do you want to have them as partners? Unless the insurance policy specifically doesn't cover it, it seems overly proscriptive.

I feel like having an argument about that, but it's a long way from what the OP was asking help about...
