Wondering if this is a job I can tackle myself, my head gasket is leaking, I'm getting bubbles and pressure in the coolant. I understand these are simple engines to work on and there isn't any timing in the cylinder head. Had a quick look today and I'm not sure if I'd have to firstly remove the bowman heat exchanger and exhaust, I presume the head will be too heavy to lift with these attached.

Simple engineering. Nothing to difficult at all.Follow clean working practices and the workshop manual or U Tube how to. good luck

Remove manifolds after draining oil and coolant, remove rocker cover, shaft and head bolts. Remove head, clean all faces, check for cracks or corroded bits and refit, finally replacing coolant (If not raw water) oil and filter.

Worth cleaning manifolds etc if coked up...

Easy engine to work on, but don't disturb Diesel pump timing!!
