Looks like the late 70's / early 80's were a tumultuous time in her life. I went on a deep dive yesterday.

In addition to the poisoning she had at least two other criminal convictions:

Found by using Google Books to search newspapers for her name.

It's remarkable how sympathetically the newspapers back then treated her transgender partner, compared to the tabloids' treatment of trans issues today.

Not much of a poisoning but very hard to have sympathy with a robbery involving a sawn off shotgun.
