Anyone refurbished an old Zwaardvis Powermatic (gas strut) pedestal?

I'm going to see if I can economically refurbish my two pedestals (saloon table and seat) this winter.
The gas strut pedestals are 25 years old and the boat is normally in Falmouth.
I am in touch with IMP, the Zwaardvis agents, in Hertfordshire.
Has anyone any experience attempting this refurb?
