Belter of a day - we only went down to check the boat unfortunately (time constrained) but days like this are why it's worth keeping the boat in the water... this shot looking from Shotley out over the harbour:
Sailed all the way down and then back till SYH. Wind bang on the nose after that.
A nice, bracing sail - one of those days that make it worthwhile owning a boat.
Left at 11H00, back at 14H30 on free-flow.
Instead I cleaned where the shaft exits the hull (shaft out) ready for the new bearing, treated the wooden hatch garage to a coat of sadolin and tried to find the drip from the cabin roof above the cooker.
Yes, we were out too. Early start, then out to Crouch buoy at LW and back. It started off very calm and almost no wind and a really beautiful dawn, but we had to reef on the way back as it got quite gusty tacking through the buoys at Burnham. We saw no other sailing boats out at all, but there were about 4 motor boats and the police boat. A superb sail!
Not out yesterday but today going to look at that cracked frame and make a decision about it....... Nothing that oak, copper and steam can't cure I suppose!
