Anyone moored at Bray Marina?

Hi

After about 10 years on the coast, I'm taking up ditch crawling again as it's much more sedate with our new baby, and much closer to home.

I just sorted a mooring today at Bray and should arrive on Saturday, so will any of you be my neighbours?

There are a fair few people on the forum who moor in Bray Marina.. BoatOne, Dogsbody, the infamous No Regrets, JECuk to name a few. And myself too!

Bray marina is also home to the famous Bray Cruiser Club!

Most lower class boaters moor at Bray commonly referred to as "Poo Corner" or "The Thames Ghetto".

However work hard, save your money and do not mix with riff-raff and one day you will maybe get out of there.

I have now lifted myself out of Bray. Social mobility you see. (Just kidding Mike).

As you and I both know - When you need a tow - Brays the place to go .....

Very much so. Bray marina & Bray Cruiser Club both contain very helpful, friendly & sociable people.

And the staff at Bray marina are brilliant!!

Did we not meet many moons ago at Chertsey Lock when Nick2 was on his way downriver to the Solent?

You will like Bray, nice marina, nice people and ideally placed for some pleasant weekends up or down.

indeed we did meet.. that was a while ago, 2003 I think. Last time we were on the Thames we were at Penton Hook but chose Bray for a nice change of scene. I picked the mooring yesterday so will be on I28, come and say hello!

Silver Dragon is on I23, so we are near neighbours. Dogsbody's boat moors just across from us on the other arm of I pontoon.

Silver Dragon - is that a Birchwood 33? I think that used to moor at Penton Hook when I was there in the late 90's
