Is there anyone here that has marinised a Peugeot 2ltr HDI engine, I have the engine but
have not started on the marinising yet. I have to mate it to a Volvo out drive as well.
Any advice or tips gratefully received. Also sources for alternative heat exchangers, non marine. Many thanks in advance.

How about those multiplate SS heat exchangers. Can't think of a link right now, but I have used them in wine cooling and seen them in pool heating.

Flywheel weights

One unexpected problem I had with my conversion of a old Ford OHC (non turbo) engine was dreadful rattles from the gearbox at tickover. Solution was to fit a flywheel weight about 25 mm thick which got rid of the rattles and gave me a slower tickover speed for manoeuvring. This is even more important with an outdrive when you need to keep power on to the prop. I know of one boat which has a Peugeot conversion with an outdrive and it will not run below about 1200 RPM.

Other thing to watch is stray heat from the turbocharger, on the car it is cooled by air rushing into the engine compartment, not sure what happens in a marine version.

Have a look at these guys http://www.westendmarine.co.uk/engines_peugeot.html
