Anyone know what I've just bought?

Very much in the style of a boat I built as a 15year old apprentice back in thevearly 60's, I got the plans from an American magazine. However looking at the straight in the sheerline (plan view) running aft from the stem, I would guess it may be amateur built

I think you may be right.

The ribs inside are drilled, looks like weight saving, but who would go to the trouble?

She's in remarkable condition, speaks volumes for the builder.

Just need to get hold of an age appropriate motor, and tidy up the paintwork.

I had a very similar one. I actually bought it for the very nice vintage 15 or 18hp Johnson that it came with.
It may have had a front and rear cockpit rather than a larger one like yours
Mine was built by Dobsons of Shardlow, a boatyard that is still going.
It had a pressure sensed speedo going up to 60mph IIRC!
