I'm sure I've used one but can't seem to find it.

Just want to input amps, volts and distance, and be shown correct wire sizing for max 3% drop.

I know I could do it manualy, but I've got lots to do and I'm a lazy so and so. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Cheers

E = (0.0164 x I x [Distance x 2 in metres]/Total cross sectional area of all wires in mm^2

Where E = voltage drop; I = current in Amps.

This is for TINNED wire or domestic wire with (rosined) tinned ends.

Domestic copper wire exposed to maritime conditions will go gagga and black within a year and the voltage drop will be horrendous ie upto 30% of input voltage or more!
