Anyone know Howard Crichton?

He was a teacher at my school in the sixties and shaped my entire life by teaching me (and lots of others to sail) Probably in his early seventies now and if he's still got the beard he'll be looking like Santa!
Always reminded me of a cross between James Robertson Justice and Brian Blessed.
Don't need to get in touch but would be nice to know he's still out there keeping up the good work!
