Today we have Sun! and walmth,i thought it would be nice to sail to the Islands and have lunch.

Once again i brought aboard the wine ,and again someone on the dock said the wine is far to expensive to put on a boat????And quoted prices that would have had me takeing them off again!

By now i offer to sell them for half the estimate on the spot!!Sadly he dident buy them,(pity as i still need a self stearing and GPS but cant aford them)
This happens quite often as i take the boat to a corner of the harbour alongside to get things onboard, and just there its next to a cafe Resurant.Lot of people.

So forum what is my wine worth?? we have with us amongst others:

Chateau Cap leon veyrin
Cru Bourgeois
Listrac-Medoc
1975

Bourgogne (cote-d-or)
Domaine de Buttet
1973

We have white wine and some more of the same but 1961 and 1975 respectivly

It is very nice indeed

I really am fed up with hearing about the price and can we aford it?? i think its just imagination that wine properly matured is expensive, after all who in the world would ever dream of drinking a Medoc that wasent at Least 10+ years old?

Any one any idea, can i sell some wine to pay for my autohelm and GPS or can i just tell onlookers that its just ???I dont know

But is it worth somthing
The one im drinking and prefer is saint-estephe-medoc 1964

We take the bottles early to let them settle on land which dosent move as much!

I dont know the wines, but would suspect that the older white is coming to the end of its drinking life, and suggest that you should do something sensible with ot (possibly drink it?)
From my experience the newer wines do travel better and need considerably less time to settle back down before drinking.

IMHO you should load up your boat with all these wines and bring them to the Mercury meet where they can be disposed off properly! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

In England

we only know the prices of New World wines.

Bye the bye I'd guess the Bourgogne was a little past it - '73 wasn't a particularly good year for Pinot noir and 32 years is a bit much for it.

In fact they're both so old that there's no, I guess, market price

Re: Anyone know ANYTHING ABOUT THE PRICE OF WINE???? can i aford i

OH there all red wines, i ment we had some white for the females that was a mont sur rolle 2001 a wine from the swiss vaudois,

We did have some old white in fact i use it for cooking (i always try if first to be sure it hasent gone off) and thats a 1987 chablis premier cru ac but that is past it!

Im so badly off i really did wonder if there is a market somewhere then i could buy my new folkboat a GPS and tiller pilot! Im not going to ebay Though!

Yesterday i saw a SD card GPS for £49?? but the postage and insc in the UL was £20! far t mustof a problem. i bought a replacement printer a Canon bjc 85 i just stocked up on ink 5 boxes and it began to beep 4 times meening the heads out of line now i can throw the lot over board!ebay

The wines ok though--you can still drink ad drive with a small boat?

Re: Anyone know ANYTHING ABOUT THE PRICE OF WINE???? can i af it??

I keep putting bottles down. I have been doing it for around 15 years now, to the point it is never special enough to drink it.

I reckon my wake is going to have some very smiley sloshed people.

Sadly, I just buy the best that Tesco can offer!
