Hi

Bringing 43'OD cutter (see below) back from St Maarten to Plymouth. Have one cabin left for single or couple to join either from St Maarten or Bermuda on shared expense (food) basis.

Leaving St Maarten early May and expect to be back in Plymouth early/mid June, doing the usual route of Bermuda and the Azores.

Any interested parties please PM me for further details.

Hi

She's a Young Sun 43 also called a Westwind or a Spindrift, built Taiwan in '84 and been cruising the Caribbean most of the time since, then I come along wishing to introduce her to the balmy waters of the English Channel!

Unfortunately right boat just poor timing so grabbing the boat and waiting for the right time to return her to warmer climes!

Thanks Briani

I did think of you, perhaps when I get her back you'd like to come out for a spin, I'd be happy to sail with you again, maybe to the next Cherbourg rally!

Regards

John

What a beautiful boat, and clearly seaworthy if it has been sailed in the Caribean for years. I just hope you do not have to pay a small fortune to get some Eurocrat to issue you a piece of paper telling you that it really was stable enough not to have capsized on the way over!
I expect that even if you can get away with not paying out under the RCD you will be stung for a huge VAT bill even though the boat probably had plenty of taxes paid on it wherever it was first sold. It might be a good idea to ensure that your first EU port of call is one with a more favourable VAT rate than the UK. Spain probably best.

Many thanks for your kind comments, I'm quite relaxed about the RCD thing at the moment and intend to enter the EU via the Azores from a VAT point of view so minimising my expenditure, hopefully!
