Anyone installed an impeller catcher on a 5Kw Onan??

I know that shredded impellers is not an uncommon problem with Onan generators. I have read that some people get around the problem by installing an electric pump instead of the mechanical pump

However I have found that SeaPower Marine sell a Y strainer that catches broken blades before they get to the heat exchanger. Seems like a good idea.

I then found that once can get a see-through Y strainer. This seems a good idea as in theory one could see a broken blade without having to open anything

Has anyone installed either of these on a Onan 5Kw genny? In other words, is there enough room

Partly to answer my own question, I have found that another way round the problem is to fit Run Dry impeller instead of the Onan one
