Anyone in Rota?

Arrived today with the intention of staying till New Year so if anyone is about it'd be good to say hello. Currently on G29 so come on over.

Alternatively, if everyones gone home for the holidays - anyone got suggestions for good bars, restaurants, markets etc around town ? Also car rental as we want to do some visiting whilst here.

Was in Rota for 4 weeks May and June this year.

Car rental is easy, Niza car rental office is at the north end of town at the enterance gate to the USA Naval base; its about a 10 minute walk from marina.

If you want to fly back to UK you can get a rental drop off from above to La Linea car rental offices are next to Gibraltar airport.

Hiya, not in Rota but know the place.

I like the small Irish bar near the port...go out gate, turn left towards lighthouse and take tunnel through old town wall, just along on the right. Very friendly and if you are a footie fan, ideal!

Otherwise, try walking past lighthouse, follow the beachfront until you see a 'square' to your right, less than 10 mins. Go past taxis, cross the road and there are a load of bars and restaurants.

Always a few Americans about with the big base on the edge of town. Generally quite chatty.

Oh, the very bad taste (decorating) bar at the entrance to the port is actually fab!
