If so please be aware that is was seen still attached to its orange mooring buoy and a bit of chain in near 'The Doctor' in the Blackwater on Friday morning 08.00ish.

Some 30 minutes later it drifted past me on the ebb tide and narrowly missed the old Osea Pier and me.

It was retrieved by me and my colleague and secured to one of the buoys off the Pier.

Not been sailing since so do not know if its still there or has been recovered. All I know is the 'bit of string' we secured it with will not last to many days of chaffing.

Could members of river sailing clubs check their members records to see who it might be assuming that the owner is not a forumite.

No connection - I just got lucky with Google

Many thanks for both of your time. Have contacted by phone to obtain latest status. Given the blustery conditions today hope its tucked up snug somewhere less exposed.

Carolanti has now been recovered by a very grateful owner. He only found that she had gone missing because of the information on this thread. Thank-you Uncle Albert for your intervention.
Carolanti shows no sign of any damage and the owner is impressed by the way she was moored. Thanks again

Glad Carolanti is safely recovered.

What a palaver we had getting her attached to the mooring buoy, it would have made a great film of what not to do.

Hi Uncle Albert,
Many thanks for securing Carolanti safely to a buoy by Osea Pier. Its amazing that with all her travels passed all the moorings that it arrived unmarked at Osea Pier. She is now back moored securely at Stone Sailing Club on the Blackwater, all thanks to you.
Ken Rolland/ George Allen.

You are very welcome Ken, when I first saw her she was near the Doctor buoy and sitting quite still looking for all teh world like she was on a mooring. I know it was early in the morning but I did wonder when that new mooring was laid !!!

As the sun rose and the tide ebbed and the breakfast was devoured, it drifted past. Spooky really.

I assume there was a fair length of chain still attached to the buoy and it was that which 'sort of' anchored her initially.

Good that this forum works to the benefit of its users.
