We have registered Black Magic for the Slow Cruisers races on Sunday and Monday - anyone else? Hope we are not too useless.

Anyone socialising around town on Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon/evening?

Lisa

We had a personal call from the Committee tonight informing us that we have been moved to the fast cruisers class 4.
Ho bloody ho.
So, I have registered my displeasure and informed them of the reduction in sail area, and by the way, we are still level rating with a Moody 346 BK only slower in light airs now.

Matters not, we will be there on Sunday only.

Saturday night entertainment is still a weather driven lottery, but as we are bunkered in the Yacht Harbour, we will probably go to the YC do's.

Just want to wish you good luck , i think yr quite brave to have a go .
i used to crew in the EAORA circuit and that was mad sometimes

also want to wish full circle a successful week aswell :):)

maybe i get a go nx yr :(:o:eek:

yep, we are planning on Sat night at the BYC too. I think. that's if Cap'n Bligh doesn't have us on racing rations.

I feel I must point out that there is only one Skipper per boat. From your communique above, you insinuate that it's not you. Au contraire, Capitaine, you slice the bacon on your ship, so get the upstart scum into line.

Now, its the Festivale this weeknd, so I will be making a secret rendezvous at the QZ to sup beer. The fine Engines Dunn is to be the barman, until he has inhaled enough to retire from duty horizontally.

Congratulations to Chatting Lil. Despite a bit of prestart parking Black Magic has recorded a THIRD in her first race. Fantastic for here, adn an addition to the glassware to take home.

Well done Chatting Lil and Full Circle. Have been monitoring it all on the website which is fantastic this year. Guess it was pretty windy out there eh?

I see there were a few DNC and DNFs. What's the story there?

3 masts down yesterday, one on a J-109 and two dinghys. Loads of travellers and blocks flying apart, and lots of people on the putty without a hope of getting off.
Both Lisa and I came third through sheer dogged persistence.

Ted on UFOREA went aground at Buxey No2, there was bugger all water for any errors of judgement. He managed to get off eventually and carried on.

Somehow I guessed things might be going that way. Hope you managed to have some fun in spite of all that. I have to admit while sitting in my warm and comfortable house yesterday listening to the wind and rain, I was quite happy with my decision to give it a miss this year!

I actually felt quite sick coming round Buxey 2 with full sails up and only .4 below the keel and struggling to get the reefs in. it was a case of shoulda, coulda, woulda....

Not really knowing how things go - I didn't understandt he DNCs but have since been told that even if you enter only one race, you are put down for them all. so we registered for Sunday and Monday but were down as a DNC for Saturday even though I never said I would be there! As it happens, because we couldn't check our prop problem until Monday morning, we had to withdraw from Monday so went down as a DNC for that too. Shame as we were considering Sunday as our 'practice' and were hoping to improve on things on Monday.

So, yes we came third with only 3 boats finishing (!) but we were only 10 mins behind second place and the first place was over an hour ahead of that! Very pleased with my little glass. :D

Burnham week

Hi all, just got back from Burnham and had a very exciting time getting there and back as well as the event itself. Had a great race on the Sunday until one of the larger boats from class 4 forced us wide at the Buxey onto the sand. By the time we got off everyone had gone and we came 10th. Best result was 8th but what a great time we had visiting the clubs and pubs, got next year pencilled in already.
