Anyone heard of a Mistral sailboat (12\')

Hi, I am new to this forum! I had a friend give me a Mistral sailboat in the 12' range, it needs a lot of work but looks like a fun challenge, parts are missing and I would like to find some photo's and data about this boat and have not had any luck so far. Mistrals website is of no value, they don't even show the companys email address so I cannot query them.

On the back of the hull are the numbers M10002 M83F
I take that to be the second production boat of this model and built in 1983, I have serious doubts that they made a lot of them.

Anyone have any info on this boat?

Cheers
Don

I'm sure that the other guys on the forum will be of more help but in the meantime all I can find on Mistrals refer to larger models. Have a look at these links:-

I also came across this extract of an article:

24 New Boats for the Lebanese Yacht Federation
and Shagouri Expects a Gold Medal for Lebanon at Mistral

The General Directorate of Youth and Sports has extended a $60.000 stipend to Lebanon's Yachting Federation (LYF) to buy 24 boats for the Pan -Arab Games.

Federation president Edmond Shagouri has announced that Lebanon will compete in three yachting events in the 1997 Arab games. They are the Laser event of 4.5 meter sailboats for 4.5km distance. Participants are: Imad Hussein, Joe Atik with Dominique Salwan as a reserve. The team is coached by Jean Louis Zabbal with Bilal Shamali handling administrative affairs.

The Lebanese team to the Mistral sailboat competition for the 4.5km distance is made up of Makram Daouk and Antonio Tabchi with Rachid Soueid on the reserve bench. Head coach is Pierre Tanous with Rachid Jallad handling administrative affairs.

Finally the Optimist competition for children and teenagers from 8 to 16 will be held for a 1-km distance. Competing are Estephan Chidiac and Paul Hashash. Jean Louis Zabbal will coach the team under Paul Delours.

Training for the Mistrals is taking place at the Batroun Pearl Beach, for the Lasers at Sumerland and Hallat, and the Optimist at Hallat.

Egypt and Morocco are the favorites for golds with Lebanon standing a fair chance to clinch a Mistral medal.

8th PAN ARAB GAMES - BEIRUT, LEBANON - JULY 12-27, 1997

If this is the same boat, it implies that someonehas been building them recently.

Good luck.
