Anyone have experience of Simrad Sonic Hub radio - mine has failed ?

As per title, does anyone have experience of the Simrad sonic hub radio. Mine has failed. When I turn it on it illuminates as normal and screen reads “Fusion Wired Remote” but after a couple of seconds the screen goes blank, but still backlit. My NSS12 plotter info bar says “searching for audio server”. All buttons beep when pressed but no text within the screen. When turning it off, the screen reads “Fusion Wired Remote” again, then turns off.

The extent of my electrickery diagnostics knowledge is simply to switch it off and on a couple of times. Hasn’t fixed it ?

Has anyone experienced this and/or have any helpful suggestions?

I know this is an old thread but did you solve the problem? My exact same system has exactly the same symptoms

@sealegsjim I’m fairly sure that it was due to low power/knackered batteries from the domestic bank. I’ve now fitted replacement batteries and not witnessed the OP failure since.

No help whatsoever from the boat manufacturer.

My fusion MS-RA205 died last month for no apparent reason.

I got the sparky at the local boatyard to take a look, and he pronounced it dead, so I got him to replace it with whatever the new model is called.

No idea why it happened. Nothing got wet, batteries weren’t discharged, no thunderstorms (boat was on shore power).

Thanks for the responses. I have read that the Sonic Hub has a fairly short life but mine is only 4 years old
