A spare Raymarine one that is, that's surplus to requirement.

I am having to re-think my upper one as the view angle is hopeless. :(

Essex used to/might still have loads in their parts store in corner of the big Fairline shed. As you may recall, those plotters used to be shipped with the U bracket and 90% were dash mounted, so the U brackets were surplus and found themselves just lying around in Essex's yard

Yup, jfm, I do recall which is why I thought some one might have one, I know I've ditched two previously. :(

I'll have to give the EBY team a call. The remodelling, Solitaire was because they almost flat mounted the MFD and the view angle is so flat I thought the display had problems. Raymarine confirmed it was ok so now I'm either going to swap C80 to up top on a bracket or mount the C120 on a bracket on the fly. Rebuilding the dash wasn't an economical option.

Do you mean a 'trunion'? If so, I have one from my recently defunct e120 which I presume is the same size. Welcome to it if so.

Thanks ohmaggie, one of the ones I despatched was for an E120 and I think they're the same. btw. you are local to me too. I'll pm you shortly.

Yup, from a quick google image most owners seem to trunion mount of the fly helm

At lower helm you could make a plywood triangle prism box, like a big piece of toblerone, covered in white vinyl, and mount the screen in that to bring it up to a sensible angle

Thanks, for that, I have no angle or space issue on the lower helm. I now have the option to trunnion mount either on the fly. The 120 is obviously the larger display and when you need glasses to read, size matters. It's also nice to be able to split the screen and have a similar display to the smaller option.

If I do swap them over, this is really a one time attempt as I would be left with an even bigger hole in the lower helm dash. I will probably only do this if it doesn't look to large up there. The last time I had one bracket mounted it was an RL80 pathfinder and as that was more of a 'portrait' shape, it looked fine.

Decisions, decisions eh?:ambivalence:
