I,m looking for a port to visit on Friday 6th May before I go to the alternative to the MDL Meet next weekend. My Almanac is on the boat & I can't get down this weekend..

My boat is moored in Chichester & I'm leaving there about 11AM Friday

I was thinking of going up the Medina to Newport but looking at the Tides I may have to arrive too late to make the Pub a practical visit.

My boat draws 1.1 Metres How much does Newport Dry?

Any other ideas for an overnight stop would be appreciated.

It dries this much:

You've got at least a metre of water next to the pontoon from about 2 hours before HW Portsmouth until about 3 hours after. The Folly is your other option if you want to stay afloat.

We are meeting at the Folly on Saturday night so I wanted to take my crew to a different Port. I have been to Newport a few times & find it pleasantly different from the usual Solent Ports.

The trouble is that my crew would mutiny if there was not the promise of the foaming glass after a tough day on the water. Maybe I will have to go for the Harbourmasters Pontoon in the Hamble or maybe Newtown Creek.

Any other ideas would be welcome.
