Anyone got an old log / speed sensor for my electronics project

Hi

I'm working on a home made boat electronics project (using an Arduino mega and possibly a Raspberry Pi computer for the geeks out there). As part of the initial development I need to use a log / speed sensor at home for testing. If anyone has an old one that they don't need any more can you drop me a line? It doesn't need to be fully functional, as long as it sort of works from an electronic point of view it will do for my project. Doesn't matter if it's mechanically buggered or the paddle wheel is a bit sticky etc.

Doesn't really matter, as long as it is electricaly similar to a normal raymarine / simrad etc log. By "old" I meant one that somebody didn't want any more and were going to chuck out anyway!

Why not just simulate it with a square wave, 5.5Hz per knot IIRC.

Replacement NASA paddle wheel transducers are only about £25 without the skin fitting.

I might still have an old NASA clipper log with paddlewheel in the garage. I think the actual display unit is goosed, I'll have a look just now..

Sorry Alex, can't find it in the garage, i've either gave it away or binned it.
