Prodding around the request for MSI information to be included in my NtM service or in some way, I was curious as to whether the current warning about steel unlit mooring buoys is being broadcast on Navtex. Anyone live who might be able to tell me please?

Roger, thanks. I have another link to a Navtex decoder which I am thinking as providing as a link but it is not giving any of the MSI that was on the VHF yesterday. The site suggests it is just picking up Niton, Ostend and Den Helder so I was wondering if 'our' area was on the other one, Cullercoats, is it?

Correct me someone if I'm wrong but isn't Navtex split into two services on different frequencies? One with the main GMDSS info and a second which in the UK is used for local area information

And if I'm not indeed mistaken, I think that the Navtex capturing Web sites only capture the primary info

To be honest, I am a bit flakey on it. It's electrickery init? I have a Navtex on TG but it's single frequency (reflecting its age) and frankly I am not sure what it has collected this year!

When the second edition comes out, I was going to upgrade the web site with a live data section providing links to the weather buoys and I thought a link to a Navtex Decoder site might be useful as well and get round the issue of me collecting data weekly from the CG when it can change day by day.

By the way a bit of scary stuff in the Channel:
