Looking for a temporary swing mooring on the river Medway near Gillingham Chatham area that we could borrow/rent til spring 2018 want to get the boat on the river whilst we practice and ready ourselves and the boat til spring when we plan to move to Porchester, know there are local clubs but this is only a temporary requirement for the winter

Peel Ports have number of inexpensive little used moorings in Chatham Bight (and possibly elsewhere) problem will be accessing your boat from the shore.

You should check your insurance cover as many do not allow being on a free swinging mooring over the winter. Extra cover may be required.

Most of all the moorings on the Medway are owned by clubs and are serviced during the winter, so club rules would not allow the loan of a mooring. I would suggest contacting some clubs for a short term membership and a mooring with use of facilities like dinghy storage and slipway. Try Hoo Ness YC, Medway Cruising Club, Seagas Sailing Club, and Upnor Sailing Club.
