Never really been one to try to get on to the bigger stuff at boatshows as it is so far out of my league its only purpose was to make what I already had looks a bit small and rubbish.

Anyway, yesterday afternoon was a bit slow, so me and one of the staff went for a walkabout and decided to see if we could have a mooch round the SunSeeker 90 Yacht that had been blocking out the view from our stand for the past week. The staff on the security gate looked bored and cold, so we suggested one of them would like the opportunity to show us around the 90 where no doubt the heating was on. We also promise not to nick or break anything for good measure. To our genuine suprise the young lady said 'yep, ok - follow me'.

Anyway, what a boat (or should that be ship?) - I have been in worse london apartments and the attention to detail was first class. Took some pics as the forum always likes 'em!!!

As you get on board, there is a nice alfresco dining area in the cockpit

But you are enticed through to the saloon. Nice woodwork and sumptious sofas - can't se why you would leave

The master suite is simply superb, loads of room

VIP cabin was also palatial

Though I am not sure the TV was big enough

The two 'standard' guest cabins were also very nice. This one had twin beds, the other had a double, but the choice is yours

Back up to the fly bridge and there is room for all your mates

Cocktail Sir?

Or perhaps just some light lunch?

Gratuitous shot of the Westline (I hate to dissapoint)

I can see the pub from here!!! It really is quite tall:

And I guess this is a walk around boat, Sunseeker style!!!!

Very close to the specification I asked for on my boat. I didn't quite get all of that though. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

What a miserable looking day. Glad I went on Monday.

Interior looks very much like one of my London pads .... before I had it redecorated /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

constructive criticism or Why You Don\'t Want That

Hokey, fine looking boat but

Shame the rear cockpit a bit same old same old. Benchrear seat, free standing deck chairs. 40 footers do the same.

And none of those seats are slumpy - youhave to be able to eat from the table.

Dining chairs under that table will nip yer hands ow! as you shuffle forward.

White sofas, gee thanks. They have to be white cos the floor is dark and it will look gloomy. But they will look grimy soon.

Bit beige really, not v excting for £3m? And.or not super sharp like eyeties stuff.

And again, those armchairs not as slumpy dozy as you might want, a bit world of leatherish? I want to be able tosideayys slump on the whol sofas, not sit up straight.

The inlaid table in pic 3 is nice tho - izzat included?

Otherwise lots of those fittings look extremely familair- i dn't want the same gear on £3m as those riffraf have in a 400k midsize boat,do i?

Cabin quite nice but all the beds are smaller than everyone's (single or double) bed at home - if they have a 3m boat their house/falt will be pretty whizz.

Master cabin sofas. This always seems a bit braindead to me. "Oh, i think will sit on a sofa in my underpants, nearly in bed and nearly not."

Portholes have lost the pizazz they could have. You can't lie in bed and see the sea, whih you can in some other boats (not mine) and coo, lovely to wake up to.

Flybridge oh dear. Foldy-ovr table like an 80's ragboat and far more space needed. The bar stools shouldn't have backs and the sofa seatback need to be lower to again permit near-horizontal slumping and also they are not wide enough either so again no shagging which thinking about it is only possible in/on the beds and nowhere else, again quite rubbish for this sort of product.

Sepretly the teak strips are too narrow so quite a goodly percentage of yer teak deck is caulking not teak, and the narrow strip make the boat seem smaller. And there should NOT be so many butted ends - they've used cheap short sticks instead of long ones - look under the table. Very nice in absolute terms, crep for £3m.

Other matters arising include the blue awning being claustrophobic but it could be changed, the horn is sh!t cheap quick-rust £50 item from a lorry instead of full marinised eg Marco needing a compressor, and the Bose speaker behind the too-narrow flybridge bar is a bit unsightly.

Just saved you £3m jez. keep looking...

Thanks Matt - was just digging down the back of the sofa to see what was there.

Found a fiver behind the fridge...

Looks good, but the real flybridge star of SIBS was the Manhattan 70. Half the price and fab everywhere. Sold out until 2010 in contrast with the rest of the Sunseeker range which is mostly available next season.

Magnum - Where are you in Devon?
Inlaws over soon with their new Fisher 46 (first built in 15 years, and one of only 3 in steel) to Newton Ferrers. Probably keep it at Queen Annes Battery for a while.

Shall be enjoying it very much when it arrives!

Northshore told me on Monday that only 15 46's had been built and there were no plans to build any more.

Is this a private project? Can you post some pictures of it, probably on Scuttlebuttt as it has too many strings for here?

Major - You are joking aren't you?!!
My FIL bought the moulds and all rights to any Fishers 46ft and above from them years back - they should have told you about it!!

Where's Scuttlebutt? I have some decent pics.
Can you PM/email from here?
