Anyone got a Plastimo Minicontest navman compass

If so can you tell me whether the compass light on yours iilluminates the lubber line at the front or just the top of the card.If this is standard it means you have to steer at night by looking at the back of the compass and lining it up with a line at the back. Just want to make sure this is the case and not a fault. (Other than a huge design fault which means we have to sail around at night with a red maglight taped below the compass)

I am afraid that your compass is working correctly but I will go and look at the manual the next on the boat to see if this can be changed.

G'day badger,

This sounds like a plastimo I had a few years back, drove me nuts till I relocated the globe (It's tiny) and slides in a small tube, I suspect it had been bumped or dropped, worked fine after globe shift though.

I hope this helps. . . . . .
