Anyone going to watch the Americas Cup?

The chartlet issued to show areas seems to have been changed. The original one I saw showed an area for bigger boats to the south east of the race area.
I guess the main Portsmouth approach channel will be closed during actual races whilst the Isle of Wight ferries use the Swashway.

Correct. As it says in the NtM linked in the OP: "2. This Local Notice to Mariners (LNTM) is an update to LNTM 33/15 which is hereby cancelled."

They realised that they'd need to reorient the course depending on the wind direction. So each morning they will decide where it's going to be within the big square box, and then publish the details on the Web before 10am. I assume these bulletins will include the location of the main spectator area, which will depend on where the course is.

We're planning to be there in a 4.5m inflatable, since the big boat is still down in Cornwall. Will decide exactly where to watch from when they publish the daily details.

Good update so thanks. We'll be there but fear it maybe just a little busy and also with lots of boats milling around could be very lumpy and even more so if it's blowing a gale like normal.
Gonn'a be a sight to behold seeing them cats flying though.

Premier Gosport has just asked all berth holders to report in if they are going to be away for the weekend, I read that as berths will be at a premium this weekend you have been warned :)

Best view will be on the TV I think BT Sport are covering it live, BBC have highlights

We're going over from Lymington with a few friends on board.

Have no idea what it will be like, or what the view will be from the boat spectator area compared to on shore but we thought it was worth going to experience it. Have got a couple of nights in Port Solent that we've not visited by boat yet so should be a fun weekend.

Thanks for posting up the most recent info on this.

I can get the need to alter the course and mooring arrangements on a daily basis so we'll just go with the flow. 18.4mtrs so should be OK in the main spectator area.

Andy

ps, although I did have to look up what "promulgated " meant !

Would love to go via boat but I suspect the atmosphere on shore will probably be better.

Dunno, word in Gosport Tuesday was corporate tickets going at 50% discount, seen them practicising Sunday and Monday, just big Int. Moths with big crews.
12 min races- hardly worth getting out of bed for- last time in usa was better- tv is the job.

The Indian in Porte Solente is very good though, for the virgin mobo visitor poster above, also the Weatherspoons for the beer. Enjoy:D

BTW, as you will have traversed the Solent, etc, remember to treat with disdain " betty swallocks" and similar mobos which have never left their berth in all our visits- nice totty though, if SWMBO is not looking:excitement:
