Anyone fancy crewing from Lisbon back to UK?

I'm flying out to Lisbon on Saturday to help my brother bring his Trader 575 back to the UK. I've been let down by a friend who was coming with me. Does anyone fancy it? Could be interesting as we are going to go straight across the Bay of Biscay from Bayona, about 56 hours non-stop. It's not going to be fast, most economical cruise speed will be 8-9 knots and we won't be stopping very often. You'll get your own cabin though!
We plan on being back in the UK Wednesday evening/Thursday morning.
Any takers?

Surprised you've not had any takers. I'd have asked to join you, but am laid in bed with flu at the moment, so wouldn't be much use.

Anyway I hope the trip goes well, weather forcast for Biscay not fantastic!

Now a nice toddle round the coast, stopping at every pub taverna and whore house on the way and I.m with you like a shot. But 56 hours jumping about in the bay of Biscay, Herumph err well you see I do that every other week
when one or tother engine packs in an I've got to come back at 7-8 knots. Have fun and we'll be thinking of you.

Well, I'm back. I just wish the room would stop moving up and down! With just the two of us on board we slipped our moorings in Lisbon Saturday 1300 and set of for Bayona, 200 miles north. We had a F5 so we planned diversions if conditions didn't improve. It was lumpy with 2.5 metre seas but bearable so we pressed on and conditions did improve during the night. Arrived in Bayona at 11am Sunday and filled the tanks with 550 gallons (tanks hold 900 gallons) and set of again at 1pm. Once again we had several boltholes plotted just in case but the conditions were excellent so we just carried straight out in the Bay of Biscay. Reached Ushant at about 9am Tuesday morning and carried the tide up the channel for the next 18 hours. Passed Bembridge at 7am Wednesday before heading up to Emsworth finally shutting the engines down at 11am. They had run non-stop for 70 hours burning an average 5 gallons per hour each and averaged just over 10 knots. I've now got the passage necessary to take the Ocean Masters!
Now where did you go over the weekend?

I know what you mean about moving up and down the board. I've only just found your 'report'!

Sounds like a nice little outing, I wish I could have joined you. The flu is better now
