I have a 24 inch 4kw radome for use with C and E series displays as well as with Pathfinder R, RL and SL series units. The model number is M92652-S which was later replaced by the RD424 radome. It is currently in use with a C120 display.

It is really too big for my boat so I would like to get hold of an 18 inch 2kw version, model number either M962650-S or RD218.

Anyone fancy a free upgrade from 2 to 4kw by doing a straight swap?

Cabling should be the same so it should be a simple excersice by disconnecting at the radome end.

raydome swap

I think you will find this is not a simple swop
The 4 kw raydome uses a larger diameter cable than the 2kw

I would be up for it if it's still available.

OK, just to clarify the cable issue. The 4kw requires a heavy duty cable. The 2kw may have a heavy or light duty cable. The difference is that the heavy duty cable has 2 pairs of power cables ie 2 reds and 2 blacks, the light cable has a single pair. If you have a heavy duty cable you would only need to swap the radome. If you have a light duty cable you'd need to swap the cable as well. I have a heavy duty cable which I am also happy to swap for the light duty if it helps.

Solent Phil. I will PM you.

The offer is still available if anyone is interested. :)

I can help you out here. I'll take your old unit off you and you go and buy a new one. You won't have to worry about all that complicated compatibility stuff and finding someone who wants to swap. Simple you see.

Excellent, do I then send the invoice for the new one to you or do you send me cash up front :D
