Anyone ever ordered from these guys? I placed an order on 1st Feb (Week ago today) and my order is still saying "Processing" on the website, and didn't get a dispatch email? 1 week to process a tiny order, that's a joke.

It also took them a week to reply to my parts enquiry e-mail /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif (I asked a question that I found the answer to myself so just ordered)

Pretty peeved off, won't be ordering from them again

They can be a little slow - I think they're actually a small but growing outfit, maybe overworked. I've phoned them up with queries before and found intelligent ( and helpful ) life at the other end...

Found them very slow as well. When arrived part order was incorrect. Phone call got a corrective response but again 'in their own good time'.

OK here ... ordered a new compass on a Wednesday, received it on the Friday, (Last June IIRC)

Must admit that if I want something with no problems, I usually nip to mailspeed in Warrington

Think you will find that many of these stores do not hold stock of most of the items.

They have to order them in from suppliers. This accounts for some people getting things either very early or about a week to ten days later.

This is done for various reasons such as cash flow etc.

It is always worth asking if they do actually hold the stocks when ordering. If they don't , ask for a lead time and say that you will only pay when they are despatching the goods.

AVOID MARINE MEGASTORE

I tried to get through 3 times today. Each time "There is no one available"

When I asked why "Because they're on the phone"
Me: "OK, i'll hold"
Them: "I cant do that"
Me: "Why"
Them: "Look mate, i'm only a switch, I can't put you through to sales"
Me: "Are you in the same building"
Them: "Yes, but i'm only a switch"
Me: "OK well put me through to the front desk"
Them: "I can't do that, there's someone on the line. I'll take your number etc. etc. and get someone to call you back"
Me: "Well how the heck are you able to get through but you can't transfer me?"
Them: "Well, eh, I send them an e-mail"

I told them him that eventhough I ordered 8 days ago, and was CHARGED 8 days ago my order still hasn't been put through. I can't believe this, I was charged for my order but can't even get through

So that's 6 calls, 3 emails and still havent gotten through. I told the guy on the switch to say in the e-mail that if I didn't get a response today that i'd be requesting a chargeback on my credit card from my bank, which i'm going to do either way

I don't suppose anyone lives locally that would be willing to call down and see what's going on with my order, in exchange for some beer tokens? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif PM me for the order number. I can't believe the outfit theyre running, it's a joke!

Re: AVOID MARINE MEGASTORE

Have placed two orders with marine megastore both were incorrect when delivered!! Took a couple of weeks to sort out but did eventually. Trouble is now you cant phone them only email which makes it much harder. Good prices but appalling stock control and customer service

Re: AVOID MARINE MEGASTORE

If my stuff doesn't get posted by next week i'm ringing the bank to get my money back on the credit card. And after that i'm going to post my experiences with them on every Irish/UK boating forum I can find to make people aware of the service I got from them

Re: AVOID MARINE MEGASTORE

Having same hassle," will phone u back" / " on the phone " / "try e-mail " same stock answers, last time for me.

Re: AVOID MARINE MEGASTORE

Thought I should post an update to this....

The gear arrived, 2 weeks after ordering
Their online status service didn't update until after the package had arrived. So it went from "Processing" to "Delivered" 2 weeks later

It took them at least 4 days to reply to my e-mails

They use a switch operator for phone calls, so you can't get directly through to them. Takes them about 3-4days to ring you back (If at all)

Terrible communication in my opinion, won't be giving them my money ever again

You may want to ring 02392587755, this is Adrenaline Sailing & I believe they have the same owner.

<span style="color:red"> Wrong, we are not conected to Marine Megastore] Endeavour and Adrenaline are connected through one of the owners.
Our online shop is under both Adrenaline and Endeavourchandlery, though the site is still under construction, my son spends every weekend putting 2008 prices on (2005) at the moment and I know he hasnt finished it all yet.

I just searched the internet to find more about this company

marine megastore

i've just had the most awful day trying to deal with them, after waiting for an order to arrive, its turned up with bits missing and the customer service was dreadful.

Took 4 phone calls, each time was told i can't speak to customer services, asked to speak to some sort of manager, was told no.

had to basically say i'm not getting off phone until i can speak to someone about it.

i would strongly advise staying clear of this company

Just going through a loop with them at the moment. They don't answer the phone any more, just voicemail telling you to email and email telling you to call them on the voicemail only number if your query is urgent. I managed to get through to someone last week who promissed to get back to me but hasn't. Unfortunately I used a debit card so now have to go to a great deal of trouble getting my money back. These guys rate as the worst on-line experience I've had, including having dealt with one company that whent bust....

Have you tried calling them on 02380 453821 - that is the number they send out when you log an email query with them and they seem to answer it pretty quickly.

However, we ordered 3 items from them recently. Two arrived with no explanation of where the third was (one of the two was a different brand from the one ordered, but never mind). When I called them the reply was 'oh yes, we couldn't find the third item in the warehouse - we're moving warehouse at the moment and everything is abit of a mess - if we find it soon we'll send it out, if not we'll give you a refund' - a refund I asked for a week ago, still waiting for it go on the credit card!
